Thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to join us for Year 2's open classroom this morning. Miss Horsfield facilitated a wonderful activity for the children to create their own habitats taking into consideration the consumers and producers that live in each specific habitat. This year, we've had a whole host of events to celebrate our love of reading from author visits, amazing costumes, to a wonderful theatre performance but a special mention has to go to Mia who captivated all the children at Hazlehurst Academy during her assembly. Mia shared her passion, her skill and her creativity as a budding, young author with the school and I, as her teacher, was blown away by her presentation! We're all immensely proud of Mia as a published author and we know that she has already inspired numerous other students to pick up a pen and begin creating new worlds, characters and stories. Thank you to all parents and children for taking the time to read together and nurture a love of reading - who knows what brilliant budding authors, illustrators, poets and dramatists we are helping to shape.
